Volunteers are at the heart of who we are. From advisers to admin roles, our trained volunteers help hundreds of residents every year by offering free, confidential advice when it’s needed most.

Make a real difference in your community by volunteering with Citizens Advice Woking. We ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of one day per week. No previous advice experience is required – full training and ongoing support will be provided. 

We are looking for Community Outreach Volunteers to help us take free, independent and confidential advice directly into local communities. 

As part of our Canalside Community Advice Project, you’ll support our Outreach Adviser in delivering advice sessions in trusted community settings, helping local people access the support they need. 

We are particularly looking for volunteers who speak Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi or Gujarati to help us provide accessible advice and better support our diverse communities in the Canalside area.

Community Outreach Adviser (Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week)
Lottery-Funded Three-Year Project – Based in Canalside, Woking

The Community Outreach Adviser will provide advice and support on welfare benefits, debt, housing, and energy issues, working directly within South Asian communities across Woking. Based in Canalside, Woking, the role will focus on building trusted relationships with residents, community groups, and partner organisations, with a particular emphasis on engaging South Asian communities and others who may face barriers to accessing advice. The project aims to ensure advice services are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to local needs.

Fluency in spoken Urdu and English is essential, as the successful candidate will regularly provide advice and support to clients whose preferred language is Urdu, enabling us to deliver an accessible and inclusive service to our diverse local community.

We are looking for a committed Adviser for a three day a week post as an i-access Adviser.

We are hoping to recruit as soon as possible to this NHS & Citizens Advice post. This would suit somebody with previous Citizens Advice experience who has reached Adviser competence and entails advising on the full range of advice areas covered by Citizens Advice. Patience and empathy are essential.

We are looking for a committed Advice Session Supervisor.

Number of working days can be agreed during the recruitment stage.Although the job is advertised as full time, we will consider job share candidates or candidates who wish to work four days a week.

Candidates should have extensive experience supervising in an advice organisation, or extensive Citizens Advice experience as a volunteer Generalist Adviser or paid Caseworker.
